How Often Should You Bathe Your Baby? - Video

Hi guys, my name is Christina at Domesticfelicity.com and today I'm going to answer the question how often should you bathe your baby.

Using common sense of course, how often you bathe your baby is completely up to you. If you have a newborn then you don't want to bathe them as much as you would a mobile baby.

I've met a lot of new nervous moms who think they need to bathe their newborns every day. That's really not necessary and that's not really good for their skin either. You might dry it out, depending on the kind of soap you use. I only bathed my newborn once a week.

Now of course if they got really messy as a newborn explosion might tend to do. Then of course I gave them a bath more than once a week.

Once your baby gets mobile then it's completely up to you. By then their skin is not quite as sensitive and each person has different personalities. If you're the type who'd prefer their kid bathed every other day or every day, than that's ok. If you'd rather bathe them twice a week still, than that's ok too. Just completely depends on you and how clean you keep your house.

If you're a really busy mom and you end up not bathing your kid until 3 or 4 days in, don't feel guilty.

Especially when they're not very mobile and not getting very dirty, what really is there to clean? Bathing your baby doesn't always have to be a chore. Fun toys, soft smelling soaps and cute little bath robes can make it fun. it's also a nice bonding experience to have with your child especially as they get older and more interactive.

The important thing is to have a clean, well cared for child. And if that means a bath every day or if it means a bath every 3 days or if it means a bath every week. That's completely up to you.

Once again, my name's Christina. Thanks for stopping by.
