Hi! Welcome to Domestic Felicity and thank you for stopping by! My name is Christina, I’m a wife and mama who, alongside my husband, is seeking to faithfully love those who God brings our way. When Matt suggested creating Domestic Felicity for me over a year ago I was more than hesitant. All I could think of, are the many words I say and regret, why write them down? Family life changes things though. Time passes so quickly, slipping away. So Domestic Felicity is my record, not an online journal, journals are for hiding under your mattresses. But a platform to share life, Christ, keep family and friends who are far up to date on our misadventures, and to record how He is working out his will in our lives- conforming us into the image of Christ. But truly, the only words that matter are the ones I live.

My husband Matt, my son Karsten and me.
We moved to central Indiana from Syracuse, NY because “we” (I am not a good mover… imagine a toddler kicking and screaming) wanted to grow and walk with the people at Heartland Bible Chapel and believed that this was also what God wanted for us. I have a degree in Biblical Counseling and my husband is a graphic designer, together we do ministry with the teens in our fellowship. We have one child: Karsten, a tall shoe-box shaped house that daily reminds me that this is not my home and two cats. One of them is up for grabs if you’re interested.
It’s been an interesting transition (what new place isn’t?), especially for a girl who likes her cities to come with an interloop. Matt is now job searching because his office closed. We are in unfamiliar territory. However, faith led us here and God’s grace sustains us, and this is where I choose to rest.
Shameless plug: Like my little ol’ blog? Think it’s cute? Sassy? Spunky? Or do you prefer the more popular design adjectives like “clean, airy with a lot of white space”? If so, check out the handsome man who made it for me (don’t check him out too closely) at MattGavenda.com!
